We, the cycling community, have pleaded with the city to keep Bike Lanes clean of debris and free from cars parking in the Bike Lanes. Again, the city does not listen. We as cyclists sometimes organize our own group and go out to clean up bike lanes. If so, then the law needs to be enforced as I have nearly been run off the Greeway Trail by motorized bicycles going excessively fast. I've seen them run up behind walkers and people with small children. All it going to take is someone getting seriously hurt by one of these scooters or motorbicycles and the city will be sued for not enforcing their own laws.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17628681922490562314noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5844394297610197458.post-31600509107032137772018-06-28T11:00:07.351-07:002018-06-28T11:00:07.351-07:00I live in SATX. this city needs to embrace dockles...I live in SATX. this city needs to embrace dockless bikes in every way we can. I was an avid reader of JMG's archdruid blog and will begin my big adventure of commuting to work in about one more month. My big powerful electric assist bike (google Super 73 - not the scout, but the big one) will be enhanced with full sized motorcycle turn signals, a 130dB truck horn, and a device that extends out 3 ft on either side to help drivers keep their distance. Also forward and rear cameras will be mounted. I will wear a full face helmet, summer perforated racing leathers with CE rated armor, racing knee and shin guards. Everything in mostly reflective white with some black and silver style flaring. I have raised my uninsured/underinsured motorist limits to $1,000,000, taken out the accident insurance offered at work, and bought the velosurance company bike insurance against theft while also adding some un-reimbursed medical bill coverage with them as well (my car, btw, is an all electric call that my wife and I share). I'll be commuting from Harmony Hills/Castle Hills up Lockhill Selma to De Zavala and then west to the industrial park just past I10 south of De Zavala. Using Huebner would save me time, but I would have to use the sidewalk on Huebner in order to not severely risk my life on a daily basis. I'll be sure to send you the youtube link when I get it all going! Keep up the good fight!casamurphyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18250603658529637662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5844394297610197458.post-63647487718946964532017-10-11T19:54:36.054-07:002017-10-11T19:54:36.054-07:002 words. My friend has been a bike rider for many many years and follows the laws. I personally wouldn't want to ride a bike around SA because it's dangerous. People don't look for bicyclists or pedestrians while driving. I think we need to make our city more bike and pedestrian friendly to encourage more cycling and the use of public transportation. It is healthier and better for the environment, just to name a couple of reasons.Mandiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03652465953289580881noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5844394297610197458.post-75710460957228800572017-04-26T15:26:26.230-07:002017-04-26T15:26:26.230-07:00Thx Daniel day..Thx Daniel day..jaggonzohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03272979674207629128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5844394297610197458.post-78358661922182448572017-02-20T10:20:08.079-08:002017-02-20T10:20:08.079-08:00I feel for you because I was in the unemployment s...I feel for you because I was in the unemployment situation. While trying to run routes that serve as much of the city as possible and also delivering riders to transfer points at times certain, those extra minutes and risks of further delays aren't acceptable. Saving someone a walk across a parking lot, however desirable, doesn't balance having someone miss a regional bus to a job in another city.

The best solution is to require malls to be located close to the street so transit riders and pedestrians are accommodated, but mall developers almost always resist that configuration and most cities yield.Dave Aldenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04365271229524041881noreply@blogger.com
